Mary-Rose in Arizona: one-day workshop, October 13, 2012

Saturday, 13 October 2012, 10 – 3 p.m.

MARY-ROSE returns to the historic Virginia G. Piper Writers’ House, Arizona State University, Tempe Campus to lead a one-day workshop  SHAKING LOOSE THAT STORY!  in which participants are invited to delve into their memories for a particular character, event or situation, ask the question ‘what if . . . ” and take it from there.  Results are guaranteed interesting, and hopefully will be inspiring.

For further enrichment, we shall explore the importance of sensory detail such as light, sound, smell, touch and taste.

All writers – beginners or more experienced, whether working in fiction of non-fiction – are invited to apply.  Story-telling techniques are universal and apply to any form of writing, whether a novel, a report, a brochure or a memoir.

Bring your memory, enthusiasm, sense of humor and writing materials.

Workshops will be small, supportive and informal.  For information on enrollment:  www.asu.edu/piper/workshops and scroll down.
